Here we come, walkin' down the street. We get the funniest looks from ev'ry one we meet.
Well, I did go and see those monks Friday night. It was honestly like nothing else I have ever experienced in my entire life. They sang, danced, chanted and even laughed a little bit. I could tell that even though they took their craft very seriously, but not so much themselves. The emcee/monk was especially charming. Their dancing was fantabulous. I mean truly wonderful, and harmonious chanting was calming. The multi-phonic chanting was pretty bizarre. Even though I recognize that it must be very difficult to place oneself in a semi-meditated state and sing three notes simultaneously through one voice, essentially singing a chord, I could not help but think that sounded a little bit like a pond full of bullfrogs. I did buy some of the best incense ever while I was there. It was a good time, even though I went alone.

The monks sound awesome. I'd go see them if they came to NoVA.
Sadly, they had dismantled the sand mandala before the show, and I never made it over to Brown Gymnasium to see it beforehand, but I did enjoy their performance at the auditorium very much.
I also found it interesting that the senior monk was a refugee from the communist takeover of Tibet in 1959. Their monastery is located in Southern India now.
